Although no one certainly knows what the future holds...

It is important to create thought-provoking long-term ideas that lead to groundbreaking innovation.

It was 2019, and we embarked on the futuristic journey to predict new possibilities and research emerging technologies. This was my starting thought process…

Why is it important to look ahead?

• Innovative ideas come from looking beyond what is feasible today.
• Having a clear vision of the future direction for a product or a project enables everyone to align and understand their contribution's impact on the final product.
• Future-proofing initial ideas is essential so you know what could happen over time.

Speculative design is often used to challenge assumptions, question existing norms, and inspire change. We used this thinking to explore and communicate our ideas about the future and to encourage others in the organisation to consider different perspectives and possibilities.

We uncovered intriguing signals and insights by examining previous technological advancements and then developed "what-if" statements to effectively convey these insights. We brainstormed various solutions and placed them on a timeline to predict when these trends might emerge. This process enabled us to envision and articulate new possibilities, question established norms, and inspire new perspectives.

We refined the ideas and developed them into more concrete concepts and stories. Unfortunately, I cannot present all the future concepts and visions as they are still developing internally in the organisation. However, I can preview a glimpse into one of the visions we explored.
